Smooth travel experience
When you’re traveling to the Costa Blanca, the most common way is by air. Most people don’t like to travel: the hassle at the airport, queuing and all the preparation. Especially when you’re not used to travel a lot, it might be stressful. We help you out with a few, easy tips for a smooth travel experience to your Viva la Vida Buena stay.
Prepare your trip carefully
- Travel with cabin luggage. Avoid check-in and fees and choose to fly with only cabin luggage. You can check-in online and avoid the check-in at the desk before. A lot of people are not aware of this and arrive at the airport too early and are faced with unnecessary queuing at the desk. Cabin luggage has another advantage: no waiting for your luggage at the belt.
- Pack Smart and Light: Be mindful of what you pack to avoid unnecessary stress and extra baggage fees. Make a checklist of essential items and pack versatile clothing suitable for the weather at your destination.
- Make Copies of Important Documents: Make copies of important documents such as your passport, identification, and travel insurance. Keep these copies separate from the originals in case of loss or theft.
- Secure Travel Insurance: Protect yourself by obtaining comprehensive travel insurance. It can provide coverage for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost luggage, and other unforeseen events.
- Book your rental car directly at the rental company. By booking directly at a rental company you have a fast lane or – even better – can pick up the keys at a keybox. Disadvantage: it’s more expensive that booking by a rental platform like Easy Terra.
Make check-in and security a breeze
Airports rarely feel simple. But making check-in and security as smooth as possible helps. So this is where easy traveling starts: at the gates. Read our tips for a smooth travel experience carefully and you’ll enjoin their benefits on your next trip.
- Check-in online. A day before your flight leaves you can check-in online for free. It’s super easy and brings a lot of comfort: you got the boarding pass on your phone (so not searching for the boarding pass) and you can choose your seat.
- Show up to the airport on time, but not too early. European flights don’t require an early check-in. If you’re too early it makes you wait around or to end up in an endless queue for the desk. Even better: check-in online.
- Dress smart. Dress comfortably and avoid jewelry or things you’ll need to take off at security like belts, platform shoes or various layers of jackets.
- Pack smart.
- Know what you can and can’t pack. Don’t take products with you that are not allowed in the cabin luggage. Check the requirements at your airline.
- Locate toiletries in plastic zipbags and check the volume of the products (max 100 ml allowed in general).
- Prepare your cabin luggage for the security check. Make all things that has to be taken out – like electronic devices and liquids – easy to take out.
- Don’t pack anything that’ll cause extra investigation and are uncertain to be allowed
At the airport
- If you’re flying with luggage, act smart. Make one of the family waiting for the suitcases and the other to collect the rental car. In case of not picking up the keys at a keybox 😉
- Choose your rental car company smart. Make sure they are at the airport and no shuttle transfers are needed. Think carefully about the size of your car, in special the trunk. Does all the luggage and people fit in properly?
- No rental car, but a transfer needed. In that case plan ahead your transfer. If you take a taxi at the airport, you pay much more than a planned transfer. There are plenty shuttle services at the Costa Blanca
