Registration travellers Spain

From Monday 2 December 2024, new rules for registration will apply to travellers in Spain. The Spanish government has introduced new rules that focus on safety and surveillance. This means that as a traveller, you will have to share more personal information than ever before.

What information do I have to provide?
Guests are required to complete a questionnaire with approximately 17 questions. These questions concern personal information, financial information and the booking details of your stay.

Why does Spain have these requirements?
According to the Spanish government, it is necessary to have a clear picture of who is entering and leaving the country. This measure is necessary to guarantee the safety of citizens and to prevent criminal organisations from committing serious crimes.

How is it regulated in other countries?
Spain is not the only country that is introducing new travel rules. Germany has also now introduced long-term border controls and for a trip to the United Kingdom you will have to apply for a visa from 2 April 2025.

What does it mean for my stay at one of the Viva la Vida Buena stays?

From 2 December 2024, it is mandatory to share the required data with the government. Even if you have booked before this date, the data will be shared with the government.

Tourist companies that do not comply with the registration can be heavily fined. Guests who refuse to provide data can be refused entry to the accommodation. That is why we do not make any exceptions and everyone is obliged to complete the registration.

How does the registration work?
Before your stay, you receive a message from us about the registration. In the email you will find a link to complete the registration yourself. You will be guided through the registration step by step. The big advantage is that your data and identity card are sent directly to the government, without our intervention.
