Travel guide for a week Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca, Spain’s stunning Mediterranean coastline, is the perfect destination for a week-long holiday. With its golden beaches, charming old towns, delicious cuisine, and outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a 7-day itinerary to make the most of your stay.

Day 1: Arrival & exploring Jávea

Spend the day in Jávea, one of Costa Blanca’s most beautiful coastal towns. Relax at Playa de la Granadella, a secluded cove with crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkeling. Explore the old town or take a sunset walk along Arenal Beach, followed by a romantic dinner at a seaside restaurant.

Day 2: Discovering Villajoyosa & inland

Head to Villajoyosa, famous for its colorful houses and Valor Chocolate Museum. Enjoy a morning at the golden beaches and stretched boulevard. Villajoyosa is famous because of its colorful houses at the boulevard in the fishermen neighbourhood. Stroll around in this charming part of the town (there is a guided walk with signs), admire the hanging houses and amazing wallart.

For the dare devils, head for Relleu instead of Benidorm. This small village inland of Villajoyosa has a mini camino del Rey called Pasarela de Relleu. The dam footbridge is a route made up of wooden planks cantilevered over the wall of the canyon. It has a distance of approximately 850 meters (round trip) from the reception booth (wooden). The entire complex defies the void from its 60 meters high until we gradually approach just 20 meters from the riverbed.

For a more quite afternoon, visit the Amadorio reservoir. It’s located just outside Villajoyosa and the perfect location for a picknick or hike. Read the full post here.

Day 3: Exploring Altea & Calpe

Discover the charming whitewashed town of Altea, with its picturesque old town, blue-domed church, and artisan shops. Altea combines best of all: beautiful beaches, a charming old town, excellent shopping possibilities and enjoyable food. Read the full post about Altea here.

After lunch, head to Calpe, home to the iconic Peñón de Ifach, a massive limestone rock perfect for a scenic hike. End the day with a fresh seafood dinner by the marina.

Day 4: Adventure in Guadalest & Fonts de l’Algar

Take a trip inland to Guadalest, a breathtaking mountaintop village with medieval charm and stunning valley views. Visit El Castell de Guadalest and explore the museums. Then, cool off at Fonts de l’Algar, a series of natural waterfalls perfect for a refreshing dip.

For the small kids the Dino park is an attractive place as well. Only with adults? Visit the bodega Masos Guadalest. Read the full article about this daytrip here.

Day 5: Visit Valencia

Valencia is the perfect daytrip from one of Viva la Vida Buena’s stays. It fits perfect for a family trip as well a couple, for active people or lazy people, for culture lovers or culinary lovers. Valencia got it all!
